Ian's Present

Chris brought Ian two presents home from his trip to Colorado. One was a purchased present - a new Dinasour floor puzzle. The other was from the slopes. An orange plastic monster. Ian was thrilled with both. Good Job Daddy!

For whatever reason Ian thought he needed to lay on his puzzle like it was a bed.

Grandma K's Flower

Chris came up with a great idea after my Grandma Kershaw's funeral. All of the grandchildren got a rose from the arrangement that sat on her casket. When we got hom we put it in some water and it bloomed and was beatuiful so Chris took a whole bunch of pictures. We found one we liked and blew it up to an 11x14 picture. The picture is now hanging in our dining room to always remember my Grandma.

This is the actual picture Chris took. I thought he did a wonderful job. So talented!

This is the picture hanging on our wall.

Children's Museum

Last Thursday we were on our way home from daycare and I asked Ian what he wanted to do. He said rather quickly "I was to go to the Children's Museum." I thought about it and said "Normally the Children's Museum is not open at night but I think it might be tonight Ian. When we get home we'll get on the internet and check." I was kind of thinking he would forget about it even though daycare is only about 5 blocks from our house. But as soon as we walked throught the front door he yelled at Chris. "We're going to the Children's Museum." So I had to check and it is in fact open until 7:30 on Thursday nights so I thought it would be fun to take him. The older he gets the more he enjoys the museum. It fun to see the areas that he spends the most time in. This trip I think it was "The Wild" exibit. It's probably a good thing we got to see it again since it will be gone in the middle of April.

We did spend some time playing with these stacking square things - not really sure what they are called. I don't think Ian has ever played with them which makes me happy that we've been to the Children's Museum so many times and there's still stuff brand new to him. I'm glad we have this available to us and have to Thank Grandma Kershaw for getting us the pass every year!!!!

Ian also played at the Thomas train area for a while. His imagination is always working and he's so funny to watch. He put about 10 trains cars together and took them all around the tracks.

March Of Dimes

Each year I'm proud to help fund raise for the March of Dimes. I think they are a worthy cause for my time and talent. The March of Dimes is a wonderful organization and I know they helped save the life of Ian when he was born. If he would have been born before a lot of the research they've done we may not have him today and that would be the greatest tragedy of all. Now that we are pregnant with baby #2 we know that the last four years and the money we've helped raise will increase the changes of this baby being born at a healthy 40 weeks!

The March of Dimes kick-off breakfast was a couple of weeks ago - it was held to jump start the 2009 March for Babies walk. I was awarded the Top Individual Walker Corporate for the money I raised. I wanted to give a shout out to all of you that donated and helped me win this award. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You are the reason I beat my goal of $1,500 and raised almost $1,800 last year.

I'm raising the bar this year - $2,500 is my goal - you'll be receiving your letter in the mail to help me reach this goal! Feel free to visit our page www.marchforbabies.org/TeamIan and donate - every dollar makes a difference in some babies life! If you can walk with us that day we'd love to see you. It is a fun filled day for all the kids. Last year they had The String Beans play and there were all kinds of activities. I know your kids will love it like Ian did!

Here's the award I received! Thanks again to everyone that donated last year!

Menards Visit

We visited Menards recently and were enjoying the yard furniture. Ian jumped on these and stroke a pose. He really liked these. Then he was playing hide-in-seek with the camera. Luckily I'm fast and I got him.

Bennington State Runner's Up

My cousin, Nicole, is a junior at Bennington High School. We got to go to the state final game and cheer for Bennington. They played hard but could not pull out the win. There are not many people that have been in the situation she got to be in so we are very proud of her - she's had to fight hard through some knee injuries this past year. We are looking forward to watching her again next year.

Grandma Kershaw

My dad's mom passed away last week. I always referred to her as Grandma Kershaw but now that I have kids of my own my mom is now Grandma Kershaw. So it was a little hard at first explaining to Ian that Grandma Kershaw had died and was going to heaven. We decided that she would now be referred to Grandma K so he would not get the two confused. It also helped when he got to see my mom at the funeral. My Grandma Kershaw was a neat lady and will be missed but I know she is in a better place without any pain and enjoying the company of my grandpa.

Here are a few pictures from the time we spend in Spalding for the funeral. Although it was a sad time it was nice to see all of my dad's family - they are always so much fun to be around. It was also great to see my brothers and spend some quality time together we normally don't get.

There was a lot going on and Marcus, Meghan and Ian were ready for bed early on Sunday night. Chris just thought the blanket they were using was funny!

Here's Ian all by himself - he looks like he's striking a pose!

Then Ian all dressed up for the funeral - what a handsome boy. He really did not like getting his picture taken though.
