Weddings!

It's almost wedding season at our house. We have 3 weddings in May and 1 wedding in June. We are very excited to help these couples celebrate this special time in their lives.

The wedding in June is for my great friend, brooke! I'm going to be a bridesmaid and Ian will be the ring bearer. I can't wait to see Ian in a tux again. He was the ring bearer in Marcus and Meghan's wedding last June and he was so darn cute.

It will be fun to compare pictures because he's growing like a weed these days. Here's a couple shots of him from last year's wedding. I think the glasses helped him look even cuter!!

The reason I was thinking about him being a ring bearer is because I came across this picture of Chris the other day. Like father like son! What a cute little guy!! Now I now where my boys get it
I'll have lots of pictures to follow up with after all of the weddings!!

Baby Melanie

Chris pulled these pictures out a while back because a few people think Borne is looking more like me. You can be the judge!

Kaylee's 4th Birthday

We got to help celebrate our friends, Michelle & Jeremy's little girl, Kaylee's 4th birthday. We went to Lost In Fun in Lincoln. It's a great place for kids (and adults!) to run and play.

Headband

Chris got a new headband to wear when he runs. He put it on Borne the other day and it was just too cute!

Nebesniak Easter

After the little party at Michelle & Jeremy's house we headed over to Grandma Kathy & Grandpa Vic's house for more Easter celebration. We had some yummy lunch and then it was time for the Easter bunny to visit. There were so many eggs. Ian had to dump out his big bucket twice!

Borne and Kael had front row seats to all of the excitement!
And they are off!
Grandma Kathy bought these three bird houses and they loved painting them. Borne was sporting some sweet shades later in the day.
Deni was stylin' too! She looks like she could live in Hollywood

Baptism

Easter morning we were lucky to be able to stand up for Taryn Michelle Weigel as godparents. Unfortunately I was so concerned about getting our 4 year old to stop running around the church during the baptism I did not get any pictures at the church but we got some once we got to Jeremy and Michelle's house. Of course there were more eggs to hunt!

Here's Ian and Brandon (best buds!), Kaylee, and Avery getting ready to hunt eggs!
Chris & I with Taryn - we are so lucky to have great godchildren in both Taryn and Brandon. I'm so lucky that I got a great roommate in college and we've been able to stay close for so many years later!

Easter Morning

Easter morning we woke up to Easter candy all over our living room and a note saying Ian had an Easter basket hidden. There were also dyed Easter eggs hidden all over the front yard. We had so much fun finding all of the treats. When Ian found his basket he found he got a new Spiderman toothbrush and a Toy Story Lego's. He was so excited and it about killed him that he had to wait until that night after church, The Weigels house, and grandma/grandpa's house to put it together.

Here's it completed!

Borne Sleeping

So as I mentioned in Borne's 6 month old post Borne has not been sleeping very well. He loves having something against his face so I think he rolls on his tummy a lot so that his cheek is against the sheet. The other night we checked on him before we went to bed and this is how he was sleeping. No wonder he wakes up so much - anyone would be uncomfortable!

Easter with the Kershaw's

Saturday afternoon we headed to my cousin Kim and her husband Paul's house. They live on a couple acres so there was lots of room for all of the kids to run around. Ian had so much fun. He was exhausted when he got home and we only found 2 ticks on his head. Lucky for blond and short hair!
Found a couple eggs!
When the kids were not hunting eggs they were playing all over the place. Ian's favorite place was out by the tree fort. He loved it. At one time in the afternoon we did not see him with most of the other kids playing and I walked out to the tree fort to find him all by himself just playing. I think it was the next day he asked Chris if he could have a tree fort.
Here is a group shot of some of my cousins and their spouses. It's a pretty big group and there was only a handful that could make it.
It's always fun to get together with the Kershaw's and we had a great time!

Easter w/ Grandma Kershaw

The Saturday morning before Easter we headed to my mom's house for a little egg hunt and some lunch.

Group shot! I love Borne trying to eat the basket!Daniel was the first to find his egg!

Everyone looking for their eggs. Ian's eggs were orange - do you see it?

So I took the above picture and then decided to start video taping because Ian was so close to the egg but did not find it. I'm going to try to post it later - it's not working very well right now. But it's pretty funny how close he gets - we were all laughing a lot!

6 months old

Can you believe this guy is 6 months old?

I sure can't. The last 6 months has gone so fast. It makes me a little sad to think that he's already half way to a year old. It will be here before we know it!

Stats from the doctor:
Height - 26 7/8 inches long (62%)
Weight - 16lbs 10oz (36%)
Head - 17 1/2 inches (75%)

So Borne is still a pretty tall boy and is on the lower end of the weight chart. I never thought of him having a big head but I guess he does!

Right now Borne is still waking up anywhere from 2-4 times a night. He just does not know how to comfort himself back to sleep so Chris and I have been taking turns going in and getting him back to sleep. It's a little bit of a struggle but he'll sleep at some point - hopefully just sooner than later!

He loves two of the blankets he got when he was born. If he's fussy or tired you can put it next to his face and he calms right down usually (I think this might be a return for him not sleeping - he loves to have a blanket by his face but I just don't want a blanket with him for a while longer - to scared something will happen).

He loves his big brother. Chris said it best a couple weeks ago. He said "I don't know which one adores the other more!" We try to get Borne to giggle and laugh all of the time and he will give a little tiny giggle but Ian just has to look at him and he gives a huge belly laugh. It's the cutest thing ever. Whenever we are in the car Borne always has his head caulked up so he can see Ian all of the time. As soon as Ian looked at him he grins from ear to ear!

Borne is really starting to move. He pretty much rolls all over our living room. He'll be in the middle of the room and I'll go into the kitchen for a few seconds and when I get back he's 5 feet away next to the couch. I have a feeling he's going to be moving a lot sooner than Ian was.

Borne has been so much fun and we can't wait to see where the next 6 months lead. He is such a sweet boy and we love him so much. It's hard to remember what our lives were like without him!

Happy Half-Birthday Borne!!

Coloring Eggs

The Friday before Easter we colored eggs at home. I've always loved doing this so while Chris and Ian went for a little bike ride around the neighborhood I got it all set up. We had 9 different colors - at least that's what the box said so Ian worked as fast as he could so that there was always an egg in each color!

Ian was working on his patience as the eggs got dyed.A few of the finished eggs!

New Pictures

We got some new pictures taken last week of the boys. It was a little interesting for a couple reasons:
-Borne really can't sit up very well.
-Ian just wants to be silly and give Borne kisses.
-It was super windy out.
-Borne was getting hungry

But I think we got some good ones - they make me smile! I think that's all that matters.

Here's a sneak peak - I'll post more after I get them.
