New Year's Eve Wedding
I know this really late to post but oh well!
On New Year's Eve Chris' cousin, Beth, got married. When we got to the wedding they had balloons above the dance floor just waiting to be dropped at the midnight hour. Ian was so excited to see the balloons drop. Unforatunately (or for mom and dad on most days - forunately!) Ian was pretty tired and fell asleep on some chairs way before the balloons dropped (like 9:30pm!). Borne on the other hand tried really hard to stay away until that late hour. Borne is not one to just fall asleep anywhere (unlike Ian - as you can see in the picture!). He was so tired and we knew it but he fought sleep with all his might. Then Chris' Aunt Barbara got ahold of Borne. Between her necklace that Borne hung on to the entire time and her swaying after about an hour she had him sleeping. It was the sweetest thing ever since he's not a cuddler. I ended up holding him for about an hour after her and I loved every minute of it. I remember holding Ian alot when he was little while he slept but Borne has never been like that. He likes having his blanket and paci in the crib - everytime he sleeps. So I took the opportunity to snuggle with my little guy!
And in the end none of us saw the balloons drop. We headed out around 11:30 - I'm pretty sure to a below zero wind chill! We got the boys to bed and Chris and I watched a few fireworks from our porch. I'd say a pretty good New Years Eve!

Chris
Chris did not like how Melanie posted pictures of him. He was taking pictures of his awesome disgusting beard and how long it had gotten. He made a point to not trim it all of Christmas break just to see how gross and nasty he could look. Mission accomplished. However, he never thought someone who loved him would actually post said pictures. So yeah, they are gone now. Never to return.

My Valentine's Boy!
On Valentine's Day I took Ian to the doctor - he had a little rash on his face and leg I wanted to have them look at - turns out it's just some dry skin. But I'm glad we made the trip because he was being the sweetest little boy and said some of the cutest things while we were there.
Sweet Moment #1 - When the nurse was in the room out of the blue Ian asked me "Mom were you scared when Borne had his surgery?" (About three weeks ago Borne had tubes put in his ears.) He was so sincere and seemed so concerned with the question and more importantly my answer - it melted my heart. I told him not really since it was pretty minor. I said "We were more scared when you were little and in the hospital." Which he then responded with the sweetest and again most sincere voice "I was just so excited to meet you guys." The nurse even turned and had the biggest grin on her face. How can you not love this kid!!
Sweet Moment #2 - Then later the doctor came in and was asking him about his Valentine's party at school. She asked "Who is your Valentine?" He thought for a minute and looked out the corner of his eyes at me, pointed, and said "my mom!" Again melted my heart.
Ian is the sweetest kid ever and I was glad I got to spend my Valentine's Day afternoon with him - I felt the love for and from my first baby!
