Since last Thursday I've been dealing with the flu. I've come to hate the flu. I don't like to use the word hate because it's a pretty strong word but it's the right word this time.
Thursday morning I came home from work because I was not feeling good - I thought I would make it through the day but as the minutes passed I started feeling worse and worse. Once I started getting the chills I decided it was time for me to head home and find my bed. When I got home and took my temperature I was running a fever of 102. Not good. I got some Tylenol in me and a couple hours later the fever broke (for a while!) but I was still not feeling great.
Friday morning I woke up and was burning up again and feeling miserable. I stayed home from work again and throughout the day I was running a fever begin 101 and 103. Really not good.
Saturday morning I woke up and I was running a 103 fever. I went to the doctor so they could stick a big long Q-tip clear up my nose into my sinus' so they could tell me I have the flu. Flu you are not my friend. I got some medicine and headed home. Saturday my fever got as high as 103.7 and I felt horrible.
Chris, my poor husband, had to deal with a 16 month old, a 5 1/2 year old, and a sick mommy for an entire Saturday. Luckily Borne took a pretty good nap and we got a new PlayStation game to entertain all of us!
But when I woke up Sunday morning the fever had broke and I was feeling much better. Still completely out of it and super tired but no fever to wear on my body.
Today I'm feeling much better but I still have a terrible cough and am tired and worn out.
So this year the flu got me even with a flu shot and all of the precautions. I'm hoping no one else in our household gets sick because it's no fun. I'm wishing all of you a healthy end to the winter season. I would not want anyone to have to go through what I did - it was not fun. Stay Healthy!
